I have returned

Conservatives must awaken to thr truth of the situation we now face.

Bush and the Republican party are a failure. All of thier promises, no matter their protestations and vascillations, have fallen short. Baghdad is no shining city on the hill. It is still an oversized slum. Socialism, even in its softened form, still reings over government policy.

The Democrats will do nothing better. But both parties are failures as far as rationality and common sense go.

The best one can hope for in Novemember is for the American people to sit out the election. That is the only thing rational people have left. If one side is digusting, and you vote for the other exepecting a difference, and still get the same, then it is time for a third way. If this third way does no exist it is time to change tracks or give it up altogether.

The only question for this country is this: Who is going to wed themselves to lady liberty, the wayward woman of the west? Who, mind you, is going to decide to take up that mantle and do what needs to be done. We dont need another party but a national policy which is workable. To do this we need a man or woman without pause- a person who cannot and will not be paused. Such a person may be impossible to find in the modern era. To modern is to be medicore. We need no more mediocre leaders.

To do this we must break the two party paradigm of feint and countefeint. This game which they play is very remiscient of the Roman famlies, and the battles between the Optimates and the party of the people. The dueling Italian families laid the genesis- so aptly captured in many offhand conversations in the Godfather- of the Italian mob. Thier tactics and infighting, for better or worse(and pragmatically I have to say better) led to the rise of Julius Ceasar and the beginning of the Roman Empire.

And be honest. What president since Roosevelt hasnt broken the constitution?

The game may be fun, but the wager is survival. Gambled away is the chances for a better future. For what other purpose does politcs have than to secure the future?

Food for thought...

Good points, Brandon!

What needs to be done is for Conservatives to get control of at least some of the mainstream media and other outlets for disseminating information. With a truly divided press (as opposed to a solid leftist press with a gadfly radio and blogger alternative) we can hold those we elect to their word-without that the outsiders become insiders and play the same tired game. We need some sort of Conservative Media Foundation, something which aims to bring regime change to the mainstream Media.

It`s disgusting the way things are, but I fear worse if the Traitorcrats take office; it`s truly a winless situation for our side.

I, for one, oppose filthy conservatism, and support the liberal agenda:

1. A balanced budget: I have to live within a budget, and so can the government. Having a shiny new credit card may temporarily make me feel wealthy, but I end up having to pay even more in the long run.

2. Limited Government: A government big enough to provide everything that you need is big enough to take it all away. As a liberal, I believe that government should only protect us from force and fraud.

3. NO WELFARE FOR CHURCHES OR FARMERS! Filthy conservatives and their welfare teat need to dry up.

4. American control of American Ports and Borders: Do I even need to explain?

5. Anti-Communism: As a liberal, I believe that the war against Communism is not over. Red China should face the same sanctions as Cuba, until their regime changes. Bush's conservative apology for the Spyplane incident, and his mollycoddling of Red China, like they're the Mother Country and we're the colony, just disgusts me.

6. A foreign policy respected by our friends and enemies alike: Modern conservative foreign policy needs to be consigned to the dustbin of history. America should be either the best friend, or the worst enemy of every country on the globe, their choice.

7: Law and Order: Liberals seek iron-fisted enforcement of a few, reasonable laws. If meth can be made from Sudafed tablets, PUT THE METH COOKS IN PRISON! Don't punish people who take Sudafed for their sinuses. If bad laws are fully and rigorously enforced, voters will quickly force the politicians to repeal them, while supporting the "good" laws.

I danced in the street at seeing the whining, lying, corrupt conservatives go down in flames. It's going to be even more fun watching Bush try to weasel his conservative agenda through a Congress that sees through his lies. As a liberal, I oppose Bush and everything he stands for.
